The E-magy nano sponge Si powder has unique material properties, well suited for anodes of Li-ion batteries. Particles have a porous structure. The porous structure is made up by elongated cavities, resulting in a unique silicon skeleton with typical thickness of <400nm.
Such a structure is well able to accommodate the expansion effects during charging and discharging Li-ion batteries. This was demonstrated by independent tests at the Delft University of Technology in 2016.
